After returning to the apartment she shared with Rachel and her two sons in the Wood Ranch neighborhood on Thursday, Castillo’s sister Emily called 911 and reported discovering blood and signs of a struggle.
Although Rachel was absent, her things, including her wallet, smartphone, car keys, and vehicle, were still there.
Ali was the main suspect in the investigation, the Simi Valley PD claimed.
At the Catholic church where Castillo frequently attended services, St. Rose of Lima, a prayer vigil had been organized earlier that evening.
