STONE COUNTY, Mo. (TCN) —Â A Missouri man is being held without bond after he allegedly jumped off a bridge to evade deputies and then injured three of them as they tried to detain him.
According to a probable cause statement obtained by OzarksFirst, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle going 75 mph in a 45-mph zone on July 18. The driver allegedly led the deputy and other officers in a chase after they activated their sirens and lights to stop him. The suspect, 26-year-old Gavin Thor Lundgren, allegedly got out of his car while it was still in drive and dove headfirst off a bridge into the water, according to KTLA.
Firefighters helped locate the suspect using a boat, according to OzarksFirst. When Lundgren was found, he allegedly injured three deputies while they were attempting to detain him.Â
According to jail records obtained by KTLA, Lundgren was charged with three counts of third-degree assault on a special victim, resisting arrest for a felony, resisting arrest by fleeing, and careless driving. He is being held on no bond, per KOFR.
