Investigators in California are looking into the death of a 35-year-old mother-of-5 who was found dead last week off Mount Pleasant Road in unincorporated San Jose.
Family members identified the body as Jami Narvaez on Tuesday, KRON reported. Narvaez left her children — ages 16, 12, 11, 8, and 6 — with family in Modesto in July while she went to visit friends in San Jose. They last heard from her on September 10, when she called to speak with her son on his birthday.
The body was found on October 9, and Santa Clara County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a homicide. Investigators have not said if they have identified any suspects.
Narvaez’s mother, Doreen, told KRON she hopes to see the “monster who did this to my daughter” behind bars.
“She didn’t deserve this,” she said.
Her sister, Roberta Correa, said in a GoFundMe that Narvaez’s death has “been a rough loss” for the family.
These children will go on wondering why such a horrible thing like this happened,” she said. “My sister was very loved by many people. She had a big heart. She put others first.”
