Princess Diana’s brother says his allegations against Charles “will not be a surprise” to Harry and William

London, UK – Days after causing a stir with excerpts from his new book, Princess Diana’s brother has claimed that the bombshell allegations against King Charles will be no surprise to his nephews, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Charles Spencer (c) said his allegations against the king will come as no surprise to his nephews, Prince Harry (l) and Prince William (r). The brother of the late Princess Diana wrote that Charles sounded "elated" following her death.

Among other things, Charles Spencer claims in his book Swan Song: Diana, My Sister that the now-monarch “sounded giddily elated” when he learned of Diana’s death in 1997.

In an interview with the BBC, Spencer said, “I don’t like to talk about what I’ve been speaking about to William and Harry, but this will not be a surprise to them.”

A source also confirmed this, telling Page Six that the claims about Diana’s death “didn’t come as a shock” to Harry.

According to the source, the two also exchanged detailed thoughts about the book when the duke visited Althorp during his recent summer vacation in the UK, which included a visit to Diana’s grave.

In his work, Spencer wrote, among other things, that Charles allegedly said of his ex-wife, “We’ll forget her soon enough!”

“He unleashed down the phone what I have always taken to be his pent-up contempt for Diana, and his horror that the world was so bowled over by her death,” the 62‑year‑old wrote.

The present king is also said to have sounded “giddily elated – like a lottery winner” shortly after the princess’s fatal car accident.

Spencer insisted in his BBC interview that he was telling the truth.

“I can tell you here, and now, those are exactly the words he said. I was hyper alert to what he was saying, and those are precisely the words that he said, and I promise that to you now. Genuinely, that is what he said,” he affirmed.

Buckingham Palace issued a rare rebuke of the claims Spencer leveled in his book.

“While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory in ways others do not recognise, even many years after such a loss.”
