Los Angeles, California – MLB athlete Alex Call called out Sydney Sweeney‘s controversial sports betting ad in an X post slamming the baseball league for airing “soft porn ads” during playoff coverage.

“Can we please get the soft porn ads off playoff broadcasts, TBS, Fox, NBC, @MLB?” the 32-year-old right fielder wrote via X on Wednesday.
“My son wants to watch baseball with Dada, but how do I justify that when a half-naked women could come on screen anytime?? This is America’s Pastime. Parents shouldn’t have to worry about this.”
His post came in reply to another that referenced “Sydney Sweeney in zero clothes promoting betting on sports,” similarly taking issue with such ads being featured on the main broadcasts.

“Just show baseball in a way I can leave on in my house,” X user Taylor Murphy said.
Call and Murphy are far from the first people to take issue with Sweeney’s raunchy ad for the betting platform Novig.
The original ad, which featured The Housemaid star nude with only sporting equipment covering delicate areas, was also slammed by numerous female athletes for sexualizing women in sports.
“Not only is it a kick in the face to every woman who had dedicated her life to perfecting her craft, but every women who enjoys sports for what it really is – teamwork, friendship, dedication, excellent, unity,” gold medal swimmer Ariarne Titmus wrote online.
Sweeney has not responded to the controversy but is seemingly doubling down with a new – and just as risqué – ad for Novig.
