In the years since Tinsley Mortimer exited The Real Housewives of New York City, she left the Big Apple behind and found her happily ever after. While the fashionista, socialite, and It girl was once living her life in front of the cameras on Bravo and at splashy red carpet events like the Met Gala in NYC, these days she’s been living a more private life. And while we rarely get new insights into her life after RHONY, over the last few years she’s dropped hints at what she’s been up to following her departure from the series.
She’s gotten married, moved far away from NYC, and has even run into an unexpected Housewife along the way in her adopted home of Augusta, Georgia. Here’s everything we know about Tinsley’s life after RHONY.
Where does Tinsley Mortimer live now?
When did Tinsley Mortimer get married to her husband, Robert Bovard?
Tinsley and Robert married in November 2023. They wed in front of loved ones in Palm Beach, Florida. “I feel so blessed and honored to have found this kind, handsome man with three precious children to love,” Tinsley told Town & Country magazine about their wedding at the time. “My wedding day was truly perfect in every way.”Â
Is Tinsley Mortimer a stepmom?
Yes, Tinsley is a stepmom to Robert’s three kids from his first marriage. Again, she rarely shares insights into her life as a stepmom, but did in January 2024 in an Instagram post. “Now that I’m a stepmom of three my mornings are way too busy to work out! I usually have time in the afternoon to get active and destress while the kids are at school. I like to keep it simple and jog in the neighborhood or workout outside at home,” she wrote at the time, adding a small hint at her dynamic with her stepkids. “Ps…my 9-year-old stepson filmed this on holiday break and the twins (6) want you to know I missed the basketball shot!”
Inside Tinsley Mortimer’s marriage to her husband, Robert Bovard
While Tinsley doesn’t often share insights into her marriage to Robert, she has spilled a few hints about their relationship, as seen in a tribute to her husband timed to their first wedding anniversary. “What a blast this year has been!!!” she wrote in November 2024. “I’ve loved every single non-stop moment of it! I will FOREVER be grateful to you for bringing all this joy to my life…you are the most amazing husband and father! We just adore you!!! XXO T.”
We’ve also learned a bit about Tinsley and Robert’s marriage from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Sutton Stracke, who owns a home near them in Augusta, Georgia, where they live. “I think she is very happy there and I was really happy for her,” Sutton told Bravo Insider in April 2025. “I saw her with his children. I think she kind of hit the jackpot. He’s a good guy and well respected in the community. I mean, she fits right in. I’m happy to hear she’s doing well.”
Details on Tinsley Mortimer’s life in Augusta, Georgia
While Tinsley almost never shares updates on her life in Augusta, Sutton has spoken a bit more about living near Tinsley and her family in the Georgia city. “Yes, I have run into Tinsley,” Sutton told Bravo Insider in December 2024, noting that they’ve crossed paths “at our club there and so she married a guy [Robert Bovard], that my friends that are older than me are all friends with. I think she is very happy there, and I was really happy for her. I saw her with his children. I think she kind of hit the jackpot. He’s a good guy and well-respected in the community. I mean, she fits right in. I’m happy to hear she is doing well.”

Why did Tinsley Mortimer leave RHONY?
Tinsley remained on the cast for several seasons until she left RHONY in Season 12. She stepped away midseason, but sat down with the cast to close out Season 12 at the reunion. She explained why she left RHONY at the time, which came around the same time she got more serious with Scott. “Scott never made me choose between him and the show,” she said during the reunion. “I knew that the show was definitely an issue for him, and I knew that when we got back together, it was a decision that I had to make.”
Tinsley further explained, “And I left because I got back together with him, and I wanted to not have him and me be a part of this now and because also he lives in Chicago. It’s like a little a matter of formality here, physically. Would Scott have let me, if you’re saying an ultimatum or something, still film the show and finish the season out? Of course he would. But because I had just gotten back together with him, yeah, I chose him over being here with everybody.”
Tinsley added during the RHONY Season 12 reunion that “by the way, too, the act of me leaving New York for him and proving that that’s how much I loved him, actually solidified our relationship even more.”
Where does Tinsley Mortimer stand with the RHONY cast, including Carole Radziwill?
Since Tinsley stepped away from RHONY, it doesn’t seem like she’s stayed particularly close with the ladies. At BravoCon 2023, Sonja revealed she had kept in touch with her, but did not score an invite to her wedding. Meanwhile, Kelly Bensimon made a comment that made it seem that she hadn’t been in contact despite decades of knowing one another. In 2022, while Tinsley and Dorinda Medley once had some beef, the latter shared at the time that she wished nothing but the best for Tinsley.
Carole, who returned to RHONY for Season 16, shared where she stands with Tinsley now. (Fans will recall Carole introduced Tinsley to her Scott.) On a Sept. 8, 2026 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Carole noted that she has not spoken to Tinsley since the RHONY Season 10 reunion but is happy for her after hearing about her life today.Â
What does Tinsley Mortimer do for a living now?
While Tinsley has had many interesting careers in fashion, media, and beyond, it’s unclear what she does in her job today. She also hasn’t posted to her Instagram account since November 2024 and doesn’t appear to be active on any social media platforms. However, after RHONY, she briefly returned to life in front of the cameras in the May 2023 documentary, Queenmaker: The Making of an It Girl. “I just want to be a housewife,” she said in the doc. “A real housewife. Not a ‘Real Housewife’, but a real housewife. Because, I mean, I don’t only want to talk about all of my business stuff I want to do and things, but I also do want to have a child and be a housewife. A real one.”
Looks like her wish came true. If you want another look at Tinsley’s life, take a peek at the socialite, stunning with streaky brown highlights in her signature blonde hair.
