In the middle of a Mexican club, Tom Schwartz and Michelle Saniei had a candid conversation about their ex-spouses during The Valley Season 3, Episode 14, and Tom revealed how he feels about Vanderpump Rules alum Katie Maloney nearly three years after the two finalized their divorce.

“I gotta get outta here,” Michelle confided in Tom, as her ex-husband Jesse Lally danced with his new girlfriend Lacy Nicole. “Like, how would you feel if Katie had a boyfriend, and she was right in front of you, and like making out?”
Tom revealed during The Valley‘s July 1 episode he would actually “love that,” but admitted that their situations with their exes were “different.”
“You would love that in front of you?” Michelle asked in astonishment, and Tom confessed: “Yeah. When I fall out of love, it’s done.”
Where Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney stand today
Tom recently revealed that he and Katie are in a “great” place today. During his April 22 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, he added, “I love to see her thriving.” He also updated that he and Katie are still co-parenting their dogs, Gordo and Butter.
He added more on their life as friends after marriage during a panel appearance at BravoCon 2025, and had nothing but positive things to say. “I love Katie so much. I feel like great friends,” he said in Nov. 2025. “I see her on a pretty regular basis when she picks up the dogs, and she’s very much in love. She’s thriving. She’s killing it. I love Katie.”

Tom shared he and Katie’s communications and interactions don’t just revolve around their dogs. “She’s so freaking sweet to me, always, and kind. [She] sends me funny texts sometimes,” he detailed during an Oct. 2025 appearance on Lala Kent’s Untraditionally Lala podcast.
He also admitted he still gets all the feelings whenever he sees the Valley Village home he once shared with Katie. “Sometimes when I drive by the house, I don’t get sad, but — and this is not a cry for help — I sometimes will shed a tear,” he divulged in an April 2025 episode of his podcast, Detox Retox with Tom Schwartz. “It’s not a sad tear, it’s not a happy tear, but it’s just kind of a nostalgic tear. I’m just like, ‘I miss that crib!'”
Who is Katie Maloney’s boyfriend?
Although Tom is dating model Kiana Carroll, he shared that she’s never met Katie. Tom has, however, met Katie’s new boyfriend, Sleeping with Sirens guitarist Nick Martin.
“I love her boyfriend,” Tom gushed of Nick during an Oct. 2025 appearance on Lala’s podcast. “He’s a literal rockstar, and he’s just cool as s—t. And they seem so happy and in love.”

Katie announced in April she and Nick were living together, as she gave a tour of their apartment to content creator Caleb Simpson on Instagram. She shared their joint home is full of little nods to their relationship, including custom figurines designed to look like her and Nick, complete with tattoos.
The couple escaped to Turks and Caicos with friends for a tropical getaway in February that also coincided with Katie’s 40th birthday. Vanderpump Rules alums Ariana Madix and Dayna Kathan joined in on the festivities.
