Victor Carter Murder of Massachusetts Woman Amber Buckner Arrested At New York Bus Terminal
A man charged with the murder of a Massachusetts woman last week was arrested on Saturday at a bus terminal in New York City.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department, which had been working with Massachusetts State Police, took 39-year-old Victor Carter into custody Saturday afternoon, WCVB reported.
Buckner, 40, was found dead in a shed behind a Park Street home shortly before 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, leading to a search for her alleged killer. Police had not said who they were focusing their investigation on, only saying they had learned certain information that led them to believe the “apparent homicide” was an isolated incident.
“Stoughton Police and the Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Detective Unit have been working non-stop to collect evidence and intelligence in this case,” District Attorney Michael Morrissey said in a statement. “When probable cause was met to obtain the warrant, we began working with the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section of the Massachusetts State Police and law enforcement partners in the region.”
He is charged in the death of Amber Buckner, a 40-year-old mother of four who was found dead Tuesday morning in an outbuilding behind a home in Stoughton, Massachusetts.

Buckner lived in the main home on the property for several years, neighbours told the television station, and family members said she lived with drug addiction and that her children were in state custody.
Although he didn’t say how Buckner died NorfolkDistrict Attorney Michael Morrissey said on Tuesday it was “pretty simple” for officers on the scene to determine her death was a homicide.
“It was obvious to officers at the time that the person had suffered some significant injuries,” Morrissey said.
Morrissey said that Carter and Buckner had “a relationship history,” WBZ reported.
Authorities will begin Carter’s extradition process in New York before he is arraigned in Massachusetts.
