When Dorit Kemsley unveiled the cover of her forthcoming memoir, Unburdened, on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle Richards and Erika Jayne were among the notable no-shows. Each had their own reasons for skipping Dorit’s book party, as they explained on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show for Season 15, Episode 18, however.
First, Erika justified her absence by pointing out, “After the fight that Dorit and I got [into] in Italy, I was very hurt. And I ain’t doin’ it.”
A producer, meanwhile, asked if she knew that her decision “could make a bad situation worse,” to which she replied, “To be honest with you and everybody watching or listening, I didn’t care.” As for whether or not Erika regretted missing Dorit’s event, or the fact that she chose to hang out with Sutton Stracke instead, she added, “No, I do not. …Â Â I was very firm in how I felt.”

That said, Erika wasn’t writing off the possibility of supporting Dorit’s book in the future, though. After all, as she admitted in the RHOBH finale, Dorit had hopped on a plane and shown up for her when she performed on Broadway and for her Las Vegas residency.
“I look forward to celebrating with Dorit when she has her book out, and it’s here, and she’s written it, and time has passed, and we can have a conversation,” she said. “And hopefully we are all in a better place. I want to celebrate that with her.”
As Erika concluded, “But I also know that I’m not going to an event where I don’t feel good… or welcome. And that’s OK too. And I do believe in my heart, as I sit here today, that Dorit and I will work it out some way, somehow.”

Kyle, for her part, echoed her comments from RHOBH‘s April 16 episode about her choice to forego Dorit’s book party on the After Show.
“I honestly was exhausted, and my daughter’s wedding was a couple [of] days away, at that point,” Kyle chimed in, referring to Alexia Umansky and Jake Zingerman’s September 2025 nuptials. (Despite Kyle’s absence at her book event, Dorit did attend Alexia and Jake’s wedding.)

Unlike Erika, who did not give Dorit a heads-up that she was not coming to her party, Kyle texted her with the same explanation on the show. Afterward, at Kathy Hilton’s celebration for daughter Nicky Hilton Rothschild’s jewelry line, Kyle told Dorit that she’d heard that her event “was a success,” nonetheless.
After Dorit described feeling “deeply” hurt by her, Erika, and Sutton’s slight, Kyle noted that they hadn’t been speaking lately amid their falling out that had reached a boiling point during the cast trip to Italy. She further reasoned, “Even if things were great, it would have been a struggle, honestly, because I would really be killing myself to get there right now.”
A bit later, Kyle continued, “In Italy, too, I was feeling hurt. You said you didn’t feel supported by me. I’ve always been there to support you.”

Though Dorit had expressed her “deep pain” over two of her “closest friends” in the group not showing up to celebrate her career milestone on RHOBH, she also had even more to say on the After Show. She began by recapping the text messages that Kyle and Sutton had sent her, before underscoring her shock that Erika never reached out to her at all.
“It was so hard for me to process,” Dorit elaborated. “You know when your body and your mind almost suppress something because it’s too painful? And in that moment, that night, it was a high for me. It was a really special moment.”
After all, from Dorit’s perspective, she and Erika had made amends after their clash in Italy. Either way, Dorit noted that the whole situation prompted her to take a beat before deciding how to proceed in their friendship.
“I think about my future and the people I want to give my love to, my heart to, I want to spend time with,” she remarked. “I need a pause.”
