Andy Cohen is finally saying goodbye to his NYC duplex after it reportedly sold last month and is getting ready to call his new apartment home.
It’s been nearly nine months since the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host put his place on the market after listing it with Million Dollar Listing New York’s Ryan Serhant. And now, he is finally bidding his longtime home adieu and moving into his new place with his two children — Ben and Lucy Cohen.
Andy took to his Instagram Story earlier this week, where he posted a photo of his stunning home office, completely empty without any furniture in it. The room’s many dark wood built-ins can be seen, emptied of their trinkets, while just a desk, lamp, and rainbow colored rug remained in the room, right next to the staircase, leading to the first floor of his home.
Andy chose not to post a tribute to his home on his Story, but caption the photo with a crying emoji with a single tear on it.
The three-bedroom home, which Andy first purchased in 2003, went under contract in May, according to reports from The New York Post and Realtor. The house, which is a combination of four different units, also boasts an office, den, and several wood burning fireplaces.
Andy Cohen reveals the reason why he sold his “dream apartment”
During a panel at Bravo Fan Fest in Miami in November 2024, Andy admitted that he had put so much thought and effort into his “dream apartment.” But, he admitted that there was just one thing wrong with it — it had no outdoor space.
“I was living in a temporary apartment without outdoor space, and I loved having outdoor space in New York City,” he noted.
Andy spoke with People at Bravo Fan Fest, where he elaborated on this. “I have always coveted outdoor space,” he explained. “There is a dearth of inventory in the West Village with outdoor space. So when I found something that was meaningful enough for me to leave my dream apartment, which is where I’m living now — my apartment that I built and spent so many years building — that’s what it took.”
Andy Cohen opens up about his “sophisticated” new apartment
Andy teased what’s to come from his new place in a December 2024 interview with The Daily Dish. “The new apartment is a little more sophisticated,” he explained. “It’s about the next phase of my life, which is a little more sophisticated.”
Like his old place, the new place also has two levels and a layout that is “more conducive” for living with his two young children. But the new home has an outdoor space, which was really the selling point. “The outdoor space was really huge,” he continued. “I mean, the outdoor space was the tipping point cause I’m living in my dream apartment.”
