Kirk Herbstreit, the celebrated analyst for College GameDay on ESPN, is said to have had plastic surgery. However, those reports appeared untrue since it has no validity.

In April 2022, the SI.Com reported that the 53-year-old Herbstreit won’t be capable of reporting for duty in the 2022 NFL season following his bad health.

As per the LOS ANGELES TIMES, the “College GameDay” analyst Kirk Herbstreit admitted he suffered a minor health crisis.

He claimed that it began as what felt like a calf pull, and progressed to shortness of breath and pain in his chest.

According to Herbstreit, he is extremely fortunate to have good doctors whom he can trust. He withdrew from this year’s draft coverage after learning about his illness.

His contract with ESPN was renewed on 23 March 2022, allowing him to continue hosting GameDay, Saturday Night Football, and the NFL Draft, as well as his new NFL responsibilities for Amazon.

During the final week of the 2021 season, he called the initial game of an MNF doubleheader with Chris Fowler in 2022.

Per USA Today, he also missed the call for USC’s spring match over the weekend for unknown reasons.

He returned to his Cincinnati home and had his right calf scanned. Kirk’s decision to skip ESPN’s NFL draft coverage is in part due to his recovery journey.

Kirk now claims to be in good health as he gears up for a demanding football season between his duties with “GameDay” and his new position with Amazon’s “Thursday Night” show.

Kirk Herbstreit was born to Jim and Judy Herbstreit on 19 August 1969. He was raised by his parents in Centerville, Ohio, the United States.

He completed his education at Centerville High School in the Dayton suburb of Centerville, Ohio. He won the Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior quarterback for the Elks.

His dad, Jim Herbstreit, was co-captain of the 1960 Ohio State squad along with offensive tackle Jim Tyrer. Under his leadership, the team ended 7-2 and was placed No.3 in the Associated Press ranking.

Later, Mr. Jim worked as Woody Hayes’ assistant coach at Ohio State. In 2016, he passed away at age of 77 suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

As per Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch, When Kirk was appointed co-captain in 1992, the two become only the third father-and-son duo to be named captains for an Ohio State football squad.

After his graduation, Herbstreit was hired as an assistant on the coaching staff by Ohio State head coach Woody Hayes.

Bo Schembechler, a former Michigan coach, was also a member of that coaching team; in 1963, he hired Herbstreit as an assistant at Miami University.

Sports analyst Kirk Herbstreit is happily married to his wife Alison. They just marked their 25th anniversary on 13 June 2022.

Alison met with Kirk at Ohio State University, where she was a cheerleader for the team. The two tied the knot in 1998 after realizing they were compatible.

From 1989 to 1993, Kirk played as quarterback for Ohio State University and was a four-year letter title holder.

He eventually assist the team as a senior in 1992 after patiently waiting for his opportunity to start for the Buckeyes behind Greg Frey and Kent Graham.

He threw for 271 yards in a 1992 tie game against Michigan to set the Ohio State record for pass completions (28) in a game.

In 2011, the Herbstreit couple settled in Nashville. However, they keep traveling to Cincinnati as well.

Kirk considered himself lucky to have such a caring and understanding wife. Alison has always pushed him to succeed in his career from the very beginning.

ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit has four children in his marriage with Alison Butler. He is the father of four sons namely Jake and Tye, Zak, and Chase.

Jake and Tye are twin sons born to Kirk and his wife, Alison, on 18 June 2000. In their early days, they played at Montgomery Bell Academy, Nashville, Tennessee.

Tye presently competes as a football walk-on at Clemson University, South Carolina. In the 2022 season, he played in the first game at Georgia Tech and against Louisiana Tech.

As per his profile available on the CLEMSON TIGERS page, the 22-year-old was chosen three times for the ACC Honor Roll between 2019 to 2021.

Kirk’s son Tye participated in eleven offensive snaps over three matches during the 2021 season. He made his debut for the season in the game against SC State.

Tye (5 feet 11 inches) participated in four matches while redshirting in 2019. In his collegiate debut season, he played against Georgia Tech

Likewise, Jake enrolled as a walk-on at Clemson before moving to Ohio State University to concentrate on his academics.

His other son, Zak, was a tight end at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. As a senior, he caught four touchdown passes while earning first-team all-region honors.

Zak became a preferred walk-on for the Ohio State football team in June 2021. He tweeted a picture of himself with his father, Kirk, and grandfather, Jim, who also played for the Buckeyes and led the 1960 squad, captioning a Herbstreit legacy.
