A woman killed her boyfriend in grisly fashion, and tried to flee from police while only partially clothed, authorities said.
Investigators in Omaha, Nebraska, did not immediately suggest a motive when they said that Alyssa K. Roman, 31, fatally shot Alan Critser, 33.
Cops said they were dispatched to a home on Hanover Circle on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, regarding a home invasion in progress.
Officers arrived and were told that “a white female with pink hair wearing only a shirt and no pants” barged her way into the Hanover Circle address “and had to be forcibly removed from the residence.”
Through an uncovered window, cops spotted her inside a residence on North 55th Plaza, according to documents. On their arrival, she allegedly fled out the back door of this home.
They eventually caught her, however. She seemed to be “displaying signs of excited delirium and was transported to Immanuel Hospital for evaluation, where she was later medically cleared,” documents state.
Officers described finding “apparent blood” on the walls, and “suspected skull and brain matter” in the hallway at the top of the main staircase in the North 55th Plaza home.
They found Critser suffering an apparent gunshot wound to the head in the main upstairs bedroom.
Prosecutors said that Roman shot Critser in the upper torso and neck, resulting in his head being “almost off the body,” according to Indiana radio station WBIW. They reportedly described the defendant as being high and partially clothed.
In documents, cops claimed to find a shotgun in another upstairs bedroom; women’s pants and underwear covered the tip of the barrel.
After her release from the hospital, Roman received her Miranda warning, and gave a statement that Critser “did not shoot himself and that they were the only two individuals present in the residence at the time the homicide occurred” and that she made “additional incriminating statements” regarding Critser’s shooting death, according to documents.
Police did not elaborate on what she allegedly said.
