Police in Washington state say they believe they have found the body of a 4-year-old boy was was reported missing this week under “suspicious circumstances.”
The body, believed to be Ariel Garcia, was found just before 6 p.m. Thursday outside Everett, where the boy was reported missing Wednesday morning, KOMO reported.
As CrimeOnline reported, Garcia was last seen with a family member leaving an apartment just south of downtown Everett. Police said on Thursday they had located the boy’s mother but that no Amber Alert was issued because there was no suspect.
Authorities told KOMO that Garcia’s family had been notified of the discovery and that the Snohomish County Medical Examiner would provide the cause and manner of death. Everett Police said they were investigating the death as a homicide.
More information will be released on Friday, they said.
