After revisiting Mauricio and Kyle Richards’ “tough” tour of their former Bel Air home, which new owner Amanda Frances had just renovated, Andy called out the stark contrast in the estranged couple’s reactions.

“I was really struck by Mau’s kind of emotional disconnect to the whole experience,” Andy remarked.

Indeed, while the walk down memory lane had brought Kyle to tears on RHOBH, Mauricio appeared to be unmoved by the experience. But Kyle had an explanation for her estranged husband’s behavior.

“Listen, I mean, this is what he does,” Kyle told Andy at the reunion. “He was looking at it as a businessman and looking at the property and what they had done and analyzing… This is his business. I also think he was a little taken aback [by] how emotional I was, and I think he got a little uncomfortable for a second. I mean, can he be like that sometimes? Kind of disconnected and not really getting it? Yes.”

When the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host asked, “Did that emotional disconnect contribute to the dissolution of your relationship?”, Kyle simply answered, “Yes.”

As the mother of four also shared with Andy during the RHOBH reunion, “I honestly didn’t anticipate having those feelings going to visit, you know, the house. All I could think about were all of the memories and my kids, and [how] they grew up there, and my life, how it was there.”

Previously, Kyle had unpacked her “sad” reaction in a Season 15 confessional, describing how the nostalgia had hit her “like a truck” as she moved from room to room. “When I look at my life now and where I’m at, it’s extremely different,” she said in Episode 7. “I can’t help but think of how things used to be. And why would anyone let that slip away?”

In the same episode, Kyle explained to a producer that she and her family moved out of the home in 2017 because Mauricio had made “a lot more money” than they had when they moved in: “We were looking for a bigger, better home. Bigger’s not always better.”

As Kyle admitted to Mauricio directly, “Sometimes I just think, what would have happened if we didn’t leave here?”

Kyle made a similar comment at the reunion, going so far as to theorize that she and Maurico would have never separated, had his real estate career with The Agency not taken off.

“We’re asked all the time how this happened,” she said, referring to her and Mauricio’s split, which they announced in October 2023.  She cited “money and fame and traveling” as the primary factors that led to her and Mauricio’s breakup.

Kyle also imagined an alternate life where she and Mauricio might have moved their family to Vail, Colo., and he worked as a ski instructor while she took on the duties of a stay-at-home mom. “I do believe that if that had happened, we’d still be together,” Kyle declared in RHOBH‘s April 30 episode.

How Mauricio Umansky explained his lack of emotion with Kyle Richards

Mauricio, for his part, addressed the “nostalgic” experience of touring his former home in a February 2026 interview with Page Six‘s Virtual Reali-Tea.

“I mean, that house was a great house for us,” he told the outlet, noting that he’d yet to see the episode. “It was a really fun house. It was an awesome place. We loved it.”

Though he acknowledged that Kyle “got super emotional” during their visit, he said that he did not miss living there, as he was more focused on the present and future.

Mauricio elaborated, “It was a great house, but you can never go back, so what’s the point of looking back?”
