Police say they have two suspects in custody after finding the remains of an eastern Tennessee mom who was reported missing on Halloween.

Chelsie Walker, 24, was last seen alive on Oct. 29 at a Walmart in Madisonville, Tennessee — about 45 miles southwest of Knoxville — the Madisonville Police Department announced last week. According to Knoxville ABC affiliate WATE, she was an employee there and was seen leaving after her shift.

She was reported missing on Oct. 31, police have said, and a subsequent investigation discovered that she was seen at a home in Tellico Plains — about 15 miles south of Madisonville — following her last shift.

On Sunday, Madisonville Police and the Monroe County Sheriffs office located Walker’s remains in “a remote area” in Monroe County, police said in a statement that also thanked the Vonore Police Department — 20 miles north of where she was seen in Tellico Plains.

Madisonville Police said in their statement that two suspects were in custody and charges against them in Walker’s death were pending.

A local newspaper, the Monroe County Buzz, reported on Monday that Walker, who was not named in the report and was referred to as a missing woman, was seen on Walmart security footage getting into a car with a man after her Oct. 29 shift. A detective said that they questioned the man, who allegedly told police that the two went to another man’s home in Tellico Plains. The second man allegedly confirmed the two had gone to his house.
