As the cast trip to San Diego continued on The Valley, so did the “friction” between Danny Booko and Nia Sanchez Booko as they navigated more parenting-related relationship struggles. On The Valley After Show for Season 3, Episode 7, Danny defended his behavior.
From Danny’s perspective, he and Nia had brought their nanny, Lina, on the trip to help out with their baby, Adelaide, who was 3 months old at the time. Hence, his confusion as to why his wife expected him to be on dad duty so often.
“We paid for Lina, who is an absolute angel and very capable of doing everything with the child, except breastfeed,” he reasoned. “There was a little bit of, OK, why am I being asked to do so many things that are easily done and can be easily done by the babysitter who we have out here?”

Danny continued, “I understand that [Adelaide is] gonna be in our room and I’m gonna be getting up every two hours and getting her on the boob and changing diapers and doing all of that. When it’s stuff during the day…” He went on to cite the example of how Nia will call him out if their daughter is smiling at him and he looks away, as if he’s “ignoring her.”
“It was one of those things that was, you know, a little frustrating of, like, hey, we brought a sitter here so that we can have quality time, be around some friends, and not have the other three kids,” he added. “Obviously, Adelaide is our responsibility, but we do have help, so let’s use it as much as we can.”
Ultimately, Danny theorized that fathers and mothers tend to think differently, concluding, “I can give the baby to Lina, and my mind turns off about it. … [Nia is] thinking [about] everything that could go wrong. Their minds don’t turn off about it.”
Nia Sanchez Booko weighs in on her and Danny being “on different pages” in San Diego
In a separate After Show interview, Nia admitted, “I feel like we had friction most of the weekend in San Diego. … We had good little pockets, but there was just so much friction.”
Her interpretation of the nanny situation echoed Danny’s comments about how differently a mom’s brain works.

“Even though I’m trying to have, like, more time with my husband because we have help, I’m still in mom mode constantly,” Nia elaborated. “You can’t escape it, so I don’t know. I feel like he just had a picture in his head what it would look like, and that just was not the reality. So, there was frustration because we were on different pages.”
Inside Danny Booko and Nia Sanchez Booko’s latest conflict on The Valley
Danny and Nia’s difficulties with balancing fun and parenting on the trip arose again in The Valley‘s supersized May 13 episode as the group set out on a safari adventure. While an “overwhelmed” Nia took care of the baby on the safari truck, Danny appeared to be annoyed when she asked him for help.
“Daniel is super ready to enjoy the safari park, and I want to join him, but I have the baby,” Nia stated in a confessional. “I feel like I’m juggling so much and taking care of all the little details, and I just want him to be, like, there with me.”
Later, Nia started helping Danny get ready for a cast drag show roughly 20 minutes later than their friends, because she had been occupied with putting the baby down. Danny was laser-focused on winning the competition, however, and Nia vented about him “being really critical” of her, which she said was making it “really hard to function.”
As Danny explained to a producer, “I know Nia put this all together. She’s dealing with the baby; she has a lot of plates spinning in the air. But at the same time, I’m pretty frustrated. I feel like I’m not getting the attention that everyone else is getting. I feel like not enough thought was going into it. And the only reason we flew Lina out to watch the baby is so that I can have fun alone with my wife.”
Regardless, he continued to complain about everything from the dress she selected for him to the way she was doing his hair and makeup. Nia eventually told Danny to “stop being so mean” and threatened to walk away if he didn’t “stop raising his voice.”
“Daniel and I have not been on the same page like I want to be, especially when we kind of have a little escape, pretty much this whole weekend,” Nia added in a confessional. “At this point, my feelings are getting hurt, and I just don’t know what to do.”
