Tom Brady shows off his first kick of soccer ball in a Birmingham jersey’ Tom Brady admitted he has a lot to learn about English soccer but if nothing else, he knows how to kick a ball.

Footage of the NFL’s greatest quarterback posing for pictures in a Birmingham jersey surfaced on social media on Thursday, hours after his shock investment was announced.

And at the end of the clip, which appears to be staged, Brady puts a soccer ball down that he had been holding and kicks it at the person filming him. They then fall over and appear to drop their camera.

Brady, who also turned 46 on Thursday, shocked the world of sport with his announcement of a foray into English soccer.

‘So here’s the deal, I’m officially coming on board at Birmingham City Football Club,’ Brady said in a social media video.

‘And maybe you’re asking what do you know about English football, Tom? Well let’s just say I’ve got a lot to learn.

‘But I do know a few things about winning, and I think they may translate pretty well’.

Last year, Birmingham finished 17th out of 24 teams in the Championship, the second tier of English soccer.

The Birmingham coach John Eustace has said success at the team will be a process.

Speaking Wednesday, he said: ‘The club has been taken over by some very passionate and powerful people and they care deeply. They want to grow this club and make it a force.

‘That’s going to be done over time, it’s not over a short period. It’s done over two, three, four or five years. Eventually, it’ll be up there.’

Birmingham plays its first game of the new Championship season on Saturday away to Welsh team Swansea.
